L’Equipe cycliste Groupama-FDJ a été informée le 3 mars par l’Autrichien Georg Preidler de sa démission spontanée et immédiate, justifiée par son implication inexcusable dans l’affaire dite « Seefeld ». Le coureur, qui avait rejoint l’équipe il y a 1 an, a reconnu s’être fait prélever du sang à deux reprises en fin d’année 2018.

Compte-tenu de la gravité des faits en totale opposition avec les principes éthiques toujours défendus par l’équipe et ses sponsors Groupama et FDJ, Marc Madiot a pris acte de sa démission à effet immédiat.

L’Equipe cycliste Groupama-FDJ regrette profondément cet écart individuel et collabore d’ores et déjà avec toutes les instances. A ce stade, l’équipe a pris contact avec l’UCI, l’OCLAESP, l’AFLD et le MPCC afin de les informer de ce cas et de l’engagement de l’équipe dans sa démarche de transparence.

L’Equipe cycliste Groupama-FDJ, dont l’éthique a toujours été un pilier, reste déterminée dans sa volonté de prévenir les dérapages individuels. L’équipe déplore ce cas mais conserve sa confiance dans les membres de sa formation et restera toujours intransigeante en matière d’éthique.

Groupama-FDJ cycling team was informed on March 3rd by the Austrian rider Georg Preidler of his immediate and spontaneous resignation, justified by his inexcusable involvement in the “Seefeld” case. The rider – who joined the team one year ago – admitted he performed a blood collection on two occasions at the end of last year.

Considering the seriousness of the facts in complete opposition with ethical principles the team and its sponsors Groupama and FDJ always defended, Marc Madiot duly accepted his resignation with immediate effect.

Groupama-FDJ cycling team deeply regrets this individual wrongdoing and is already collaborating with all the instances. At this point, the team got in touch with the UCI, the OCLAESP, the AFLD and the MPCC in order to inform them of the case and of the team’s strong belief in its transparency approach.

Groupama-FDJ cycling team, whose ethics have always been a foundation, stays determined in its will to prevent any individual misconduct. The team regrets this case but preserves its trust in all of the team members and will remain inflexible in terms of ethics.
