This year’s UCI Road World Championships 2020 are taking place in Italy, more particularly around the Imola F1 circuit in the Emilia-Romagna region.

It is the 87th edition of the competion and was about to be the 11th time coming to Switzerland after Mendrisio 2009. However, due to the covid-19 health crisis, the Switzerland governmental restrictions did not permitted the competion to take place there so the UCI decided to go to Italy and the city of Imola.

On this year’s Road race program, 9 loops of 28.8km around the city of Imola and several loops on the Imola F1 circuit for a total of 258,2km on a rugged route with more than 5000m of ascent.

Our Swiss cyclist Stefan Küng finished 3rd during last year’s edition in Harrogate, England.
