This year’s UCI Road World Championships 2022 are taking place in Australia, more particularly around the city of Wollongong, near Sydney.

It is the 89th edition of the competion and the 2nd time coming to Australia, 12 years after Melbourne in 2010.

On this year’s road race program, the riders will start from Helensburgh to go to Mount Keira before entering a 17.1km circuit to be covered 12 times containing multiple hills in the city of Wollongong for a total of 266.9km. The finishline is 6km after the last climb which could result in a sprint between strong riders after a very selective and tiring course.
