Giro d’Italia Next Gen

The Giro d’Italia U23 also known as “Baby Giro” or “Giro U23” is an Italian stage cycling race created in 1970 on the same model as the Tour de l’Avenir.

Until 2012, the race was opened to cyclists under the age of 27 in category 2.2 of the UCI Europe Tour calendar. In 2017, the race came back with a new formula based on cyclists under 23 years old.

On last year’s edition, the Continentale Groupama-FDJ played a major role in the race by winning a stage with Romain Grégoire and by finished third on General Classification with Lenny Martinez.
