Gent-Wevelgem, officially known as Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields is a one day, classic Belgian cycling race created in 1934 which is disputed the last sunday before the Tour of Flanders.

The race takes part of the UCI World Tour calendar since 2011.

Gent-Wevelgem is reputed as a sprinter’s classic due to its relatively flat course but there are certain difficulties like the mount Kemmel and its high ascent percentages on cobbles that will hype up the race.

On this year’s edition, the riders will have to complete around 249 kilometers to finish the race.
