The Étoile de Bessèges – Tour du Gard was created in 1971 by Roland Fangille, a former cyclist and is the first european stage race of the professional calendar in category 2.1.

Alexys Brunel distinguished himself there by winning the first stage of last year’s edition.

Stage 1 – Bellegarde > Bellegarde – 141 km – 3rd february
Stage 2 – Saint Geniès de Malgoirès > La Calmette – 154,1 km – 4th february
Stage 3 – Bessèges > Bessèges – 154,8 km – 5th february
Stage 4 – Rousson > Saint Siffret – 151,- km – 6th february
Stage 5 (ITT) – Alès > Alès – 11km – 7th february
