Amstel Gold Race

The Amstel Gold Race is a Dutch one-day, Classic cycling race created in 1966 which takes part in the UCI World Tour calendar since 2011. The race launches the Ardennes Classics, several days before the Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

The race crosses the South of the Limburg province around Maastricht and sometimes pass by Belgium.

The profile of the Amstel Gold Race is rugged with around 30 climbs over 250km which gives the riders little time to recover between. Some of them are steep and can go over ascent percentages exceeding 20% like the one of Keutenberg and its 22%.
