The Critérium du Dauphiné (formerly Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré) is a stage race created in 1947 by Georges Cazeneuve. Initially organized by the newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré, it has been managed by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) since 2010. Despite its name, it is not a criterium in the strict sense. Taking place mainly in the Alps around the Dauphiné region, it has been part of the World Tour calendar since 2005.
Held in early June over the course of a week, the Critérium du Dauphiné comes just a few weeks before the Tour de France. Its demanding route, featuring major climbs and summit finishes, makes it a formidable race and an ideal test for riders targeting the Tour. Many of cycling’s greatest champions have claimed victory there.
The team’s last win at the Critérium du Dauphiné dates back to 2022, with David Gaudu’s triumph on Stage 3.
